My beautiful boy.
Here are a few images from a recent film shoot I did with my little friend Owen. I've work with Owen since he was born. He's normally a pretty smiley guy! But this day he was very serious, and I have to say, I loved it. His mood fit perfectly with the mood of this dark grainy film. So serious, but still so sweet! images shot on my Mamiya 645 using Ilford Delta 3200
Katy Roberts of VOWS Wedding and Event Planning and I have been colleagues for over ten years! One of the first weddings I ever shot was one of the first weddings she ever planned. Since that time we have watched each other grow sucessful businesses. We've work countless weddings and events together. Most important of all, we've become friends. As friends we have seen each other through both good and bad times. She is dear to my heart. And I can not begin to tell you how much I adore her husband Ty. Peter and I were honored to participate in their beautiful Maui wedding! I photographed them and played ukulele for the ceremony. Peter officiated. Despite the crazy Hawaiian wind (and there was a lot of it!!) It was a perfect day!
We love you Katy and Ty!!!
Last week my husband and I flew to Maui for the wedding of our dear friends Katy (owner of Vows: Wedding and Event Planning) and Ty Roberts. I had the great privilege of both photographing the wedding, and playing Ukulele for the ceremony. Peter, my husband, officiated. The wedding was gorgeous (I'll be sharing photos soon)! But before the wedding, Peter and I had a few days to explore and relax. I think our trip is best summed up by this series of portraits I took of Peter. We had a blast! And I must say, I'm pretty lucky to be married to such a totally fun, handsome and talented guy!
Friend, does this sound like you?
- You have a fancy new camera and lens, but always shoot on auto.
- You feel frustrated that your pictures don’t look the way you want them to. Ever.
- You really want to learn how to use your camera but the instruction manual that came with it: a) scares you b) puts you to sleep c) reads like its in a foreign language or d) all of the above.
Would you love to:
- Shoot without using “auto” mode!!!
- Know how to perfectly expose your images.
- Rock composition and take your photos from snap-shots to works of art.
Let me help you!
I’ll be teaching a beginner’s photography class on April 6th from 10:00 to 2:00
In this class you can expect to learn:

As part of the class you will also get:
- One-on-one feedback and instruction time so that your individual needs and questions will be addressed.
- Lots of practice time! Yes, we will have models of all ages for you to work with!

My children rarely let me take their picture any more. I usually have to sneak a pic or two when we're out doing something. So the fact that they let me take them up to my studio and take these photos is a big deal!!! And it makes me love the images even more!! shot on my Mamiya 645 using Portra 400
I love that I was able to capture this sweet family cuddle puddle at this morning's session. I love the love in this photo!
Those cheeks!! Those eyes!! Cutie-cute McCuterson!
If you follow my blog then you know that I've been playing around with shooting film again. I love the texture of it (and the ease!!) The only problem is, it's super dark here in Seattle!!! I love the look of 100 and 400 speed film, but I just don't have enough light to pull it off.... so, I'm now practicing with 3200. This session was shot using Ilford Delta 3200, and I'm absolutely in LOVE with it!!! It's so soft and pretty!!! It just may be my new favorite film!
Beautiful light, beautiful baby, beautiful family... what more could I ask for! I love every thing about this session!
